Ichalkaranji is known as the Manchester of Maharashtra. Textile industry has played an important role in the growth of the city. It houses a number of small and medium scale textile units, which are export oriented. Ichalkaranji Textile Common Effluent Treatment Plant Ltd (ICH-CETP) has cluster of 67 processes, these are involved in activities like bleaching , dyeing printing and finishing of cotton , synthetic and blended fabrics.
